Agreement to Terms

These terms describe use of the public, static CosmicImage Lab educational website. The site does not provide accounts, subscriptions, uploads, private workspaces, or a user-content platform.

Use License

Permission to Use

You may browse and link to the website for lawful educational and informational purposes. This permission does not grant rights in third-party astronomical images, data, or publications. Do not:

• Resale or commercial use of the Website or its contents
• Present page summaries or teaching charts as original observatory data products
• Remove credits or imply endorsement by a named observatory, agency, or researcher
• Use of data mining, robots, or similar data gathering and extraction tools

Image and Content Usage

The astronomical images and data visualizations displayed on CosmicImage Lab are provided for educational and informational purposes. Many images are sourced from public domain astronomical observatories and research institutions. However:

• You are responsible for verifying the licensing and usage rights of any specific image before using it
• Some images may be subject to copyright or other intellectual property rights
• You must provide appropriate attribution when using images in accordance with their respective licenses
• Commercial use of images may require additional permissions from the original sources

Site Conduct

There are no user accounts or site credentials. You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Website
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service

Intellectual Property Rights

Original page text, layout, and site code may be protected by applicable law. Astronomical images, mission data, papers, and catalog records retain the rights and reuse conditions stated by their originating institutions or authors. A credit line or outbound link is not, by itself, a reuse license; verify each source record before reuse.

Email and Suggestions

The website has no comment, upload, or contribution system. Email sent to the address on the Contact page is handled by the sender's email provider. A source suggestion does not create an obligation to publish, respond, or enter a collaboration.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The information and materials on CosmicImage Lab are provided for education on an "as is" basis. Check scientific claims, coordinates, image processing, credits, and rights against the linked primary source before relying on them. Teaching charts labeled illustrative or normalized are not archive exports or survey results.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CosmicImage Lab, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Governing Law

These terms may be revised by updating this page and its displayed revision date. The site does not operate an account or subscription channel for advance notices.

Severability
